This cottage was built in 1978. There was a smaller cottage on the lot before this.
It's approximately 750 square feet with a large kitchen, bedroom and bath. My mother lived in this cottage year around until 2005. It is very comfortable with lots of light but fantastic afternoon shade from the mature maple trees in the front yard.
This cottage has it's own natural gas powered generator that goes on automatically in the event of a power outage. Power failures will continue being an issue during storms as long as they continue stringing electric wires through trees.
Bedroom
The bedroom is huge. We furnished it with a television and queen sofa bed so guests can get away from others in their group, when the need arises. We all have those times. With the sofa bed, the room will sleep 6.
Living Room
The living room seats 6 very comfortably. It has a wood burning stove and a queen sofa bed. The television was new in 2006. This is a wonderful room in which to watch the day turn to night.
Dining Area
The dining area has a table and four chairs. It is supplemented by a rather large picnic table, just outside on the patio. The picnic table seats 8 but the dining table is a good back-up if it's raining.
Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped. It has many gadgets that no one knows what they are supposed to do. It has a dishwasher, microwave oven and plenty of work light. There is a wonderful view of the lake. It is quite large for a house this size. My mom didn't cook but she stored a lot of odd cooking stuff.
Bath
The bath has a tub/shower combination and a vanity sink. There is room for two simultaneous visitors but three would become a crowd. There is a very nice high window with a lake view.
Outdoors
This cottage has the shadier lot. The patio is semi-private and a great place to watch the world go by. There is generally a breeze coming off the lake, making it very pleasant.
